IMO: Give it a shot if you like a Jack of all trades character. The Tinkerer will give you the ability to escape pretty much any situation that Gloomhaven throws at you..

Looking at the Brute's cards, he might actually play a little more like Groot, despite the Cragheart's elemental infusions. Also... Character progression is obviously a big part of the game and the main way that happens in the vast majority of RPGs is through a system of experience gain and leveling up.
